David Beckham Reveals the shameful things he does to 13 YO daughter Harper Beckham; Rages at Haters Over Controversial Kiss with 13-Year-Old Daughter—‘Get a Life, She’s My Child!’

It is the ultimate gesture of love between a parent and child.

But a seemingly simple kiss between soccer superstar David Beckham and his young daughter has ignited fierce debate on social media.

In a post shared on Instagram this week by the 45-year-old’s wife, Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria, Beckham is seen kissing Harper, nine, on the lips during a day out together

The post received more than 2500 comments and divided social media users into two camps – those who thought it was a touching moment between father and daughter and others who took issue with the kiss on the lips.

“Adore your family, but never understood those parents’ kisses on the lips. Still the best family,” wrote one.

Others labelled it “weird” and “inappropriate.”

Such comments were met with an angry response from other Instagram users, including one who said: “Thank you for showing it is perfectly normal and right for a father to kiss his daughter on the lips as a sign of love and true affection.”

In 2017 the father of four was forced to defend a similar photo and admitted to being surprised by the reaction.

“I kiss all my kids on the lips,” he said. “Brooklyn maybe not. Brooklyn is 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids.”

At the time, American child psychologist Charlotte Reznick insisted parents should “never” kiss their children on the mouth because the act was too sexual.

Australian author, researcher and children’s resilience expert Kari Sutton said it was up to parents to determine what was right for their families, and encouraged all parents to talk with their children about personal boundaries.

“I would hope parents talk to their children and say, ‘we might kiss on the lips but don’t do that with other people, and if someone wants you to, come and talk to me’,” she said.

“Lips and the mouth are personal boundaries, and at a certain age kids may start feeling funny about it and if that happens then they have the right to say no.”

But Ms Sutton she said in the photo in question, Beckham and his daughter looked happy and comfortable and it was a shame some were so quick to jump on their “high horses.”
