Erika Kirk, Candace Owens Speak Out After Private Meeting

Erika Kirk and Candace Owens met in person on Monday, days after Charlie Kirk’s widow appeared at a CBS town hall and publicly urged Owens to stop promoting conspiracy theories about her late husband’s assassination.

Both Kirk and Owens confirmed Monday evening that the meeting took place, describing the conversation as productive in separate posts on X.

Neither woman shared specific details from the discussion, but Owens said the meeting lasted four and a half hours and resulted in more agreement than she expected.

Kirk wrote on X on Sunday that she and Owens would hold a private, in person meeting on Monday.

She added that they agreed public discussions, livestreams, and tweets would be paused until after the meeting concluded.

Kirk said she was looking forward to a productive discussion.

Owens also wrote on X that she was very much looking forward to the conversation.

The meeting followed a CBS News town hall that aired Saturday, during which Kirk spoke with CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss.

Weiss asked Kirk what she would want to say to Owens, who has been amplifying conspiracy theories surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

“Stop,” Kirk said.

“That’s it.”

“That’s all I have to say.”

“Stop.”

Owens was previously a close friend of Charlie Kirk and a former employee of his conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA.

She has compared their relationship to that of a brother and sister.

The day after his assassination, Owens posted a lengthy video saying she wanted him to be remembered for his career and ideas.

In the months that followed, Owens promoted conspiracy theories about his murder and made fraud allegations regarding the finances of Turning Point, which Erika Kirk now oversees.

The Treasury Department has since confirmed that none of the tax exempt entities overseen by Kirk are under investigation by the IRS.

After the meeting, Owens posted on X that the conversation went well and that there were points of agreement.

“Erika and I had an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did,” Owens wrote.

“We agreed much more than I had anticipated,” she added.

“Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well.”

“Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent.”

Owens said she plans to provide a full rundown of the meeting at a later time.

“I am currently exhausted,” she wrote, “but I wanted to quickly let you guys know that absolutely nothing was held back and the immediate result was that tensions were thawed.”

But four and a half hours after the meeting Owens posted a proof of life video.

“Why is Candace Owens assuring her fans that she’s alive? It’s because a disturbing number of people have been concerned for her welfare and speculating that Erika Kirk, along with Israelis/Jews and various other interested parties, would try to assassinate her,” journalist Yashar Ali said. “Instagram and TikTok have been flooded with people getting impatient and worrying about her safety.”
