Taylor Swift Steals the Spotlight in a Shimmering Gold Sequin Gown as She Celebrates Este Haim’s Wedding on New Year’s Eve—With Music Legend Stevie Nicks Glowing Beside Her
While Travis Kelce wasn’t spotted with the singer at the New Year’s Eve event, a music icon was.
Taylor Swift spent her New Year’s Eve celebrating her dear friend Este Haim’s wedding. People ran photos today of the star at Haim and Jonathan Levin’s California nuptials. Swift appeared in a sleeveless gold sequin dress with her hair styled in an updo. The gown featured a pleated skirt, and she accessorized with a tan shawl. While her fiancé, Travis Kelce, wasn’t photographed with her at the event, she had one of her favorite people alongside her: music icon Stevie Nicks, who was dressed in black. See photos here on People.
It’s unclear whether Kelce joined Swift at the celebration. The Kansas City Chiefs player has an away game in Las Vegas on Sunday, marking the team’s last match of the regular season. With the Chiefs eliminated from the playoffs, Sunday’s matchup would be Kelce’s final game ever, should he choose to retire this year.
Swift recently name-dropped both Kelce and Nicks during her Late Show With Stephen Colbert interview last month, saying they, along with Max Martin, make up her three favorite people.
She called herself “very lucky,” when it comes to people she can turn to for advice. “I have Stevie Nicks in my life in a way that affects me positively constantly,” she continued. “Like, being able to talk to her and have a phone call with her and hear what she’s been through. She paved the way for me and any other artist to get to do this on this level so I feel very lucky that she’s lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach to life to me.”
Also, I work with Max Martin, who I think is one of the greatest, most legendary creators, producers, songwriters. I think we’re very lucky to live in the time that he’s continuing to make music,” she said. She praised his evolution as an artist, saying, “He’s reinvented his sound so many times, and I think what I look up to the most in people is career longevity—career longevity, friendship longevity, longevity in their relationships. You know, how do you keep a good thing going? I think there are certain corners of our society that really love that and look up to longevity. There are also corners that are like, ‘Give someone else a turn! Can’t you just go away so we can talk about how good you were?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t want to.’”
“And another person, my third favorite person—and it’s not in any order because I do talk to him a lot more than the other two—is Travis,” she added. “I can talk to him about any of this, you know?”
