Michael J. Fox Shares Rare Photo of His and Tracy Pollan’s 23-Year-Old Daughter Esmé
Michael J. Fox and wife Tracy Pollan both celebrated their youngest daughter Esmé Fox on Instagram as she turned 23 on Nov. 4.
As the Back to the Future actor and his wife Tracy Pollan’s youngest Esmé Fox turned 23 Nov. 4, he celebrated with a heartfelt message.
“Esme, Happy birthday to our renaissance gal. You do it all,” Michael, 63, wrote on Instagram. “Your Dood loves you very much..Who doesn’t? Keep living your best life.”
The Family Ties alum—who also shares son Sam, 35, and 29-year-old twin daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler with Tracy—accompanied his sweet words with some rare photos of his youngest smiling for the camera.
His wife of 36 years also shared a tribute to Esme, posting a carousel of images taken in nature, including several adorable mother-daughter snaps together.
Michael and Tracy first met on the set of Family Ties in 1985 when they played an onscreen couple. While at the time, she was dating Kevin Bacon and he was in a relationship with The Facts of Life’s Nancy McKeon, they later struck up a romance on the set of Bright Lights, Big City just a few years later. And the same year their second collaboration was released in 1988, they tied the knot.
Tracy wasn’t sentimental or romantic about it at all,” he recalled to AARP magazine in 2017 of how his wife reacted to his diagnosis. “No exhibition of grief and fear. Tracy was just like, ‘You’ve got a stone in your shoe. We’ll do what we can until you can get it out. In the meantime, if you limp with the stone, that’s all right. You can hold my hand, and we’ll get over that.'”
But beyond being a support system, the Michael J. Fox Foundation founder has detailed their dynamic as a couple.
“Well, Tracy’s amazing,” he said on Sunday TODAY in 2020. “She’s there in the front lines with me every single day. She never pretends to know as much as I know. And the other thing Tracy does is, if there’s something funny, let’s get to the funny. We’ll deal with the tragic later.”
