Just in: Lady Louise Windsor set for major royal surprise
Lady Louise Windsor is poised for a “quasi-official royal role” in the future, a commentator has claimed.
She is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and currently attends university in St Andrews, Scotland.
Despite being the daughter of Prince Edward and granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Louise, 20 and her younger brother James, Earl of Wessex, were not bestowed with princely titles during their upbringing.
In a 2020 interview, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, explained that Louise and James, aged 16, are unlikely to assume official royal duties in the future.
She told The Times: “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living.
“Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles. They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.”
