Jason Kelce Gets ‘Beat Up’ as He Tries to Complete a Workout from His NFL Playing Days After Losing 30 Lbs.
Despite a few “embarrassing” blunders, the former Eagles star showed impressive endurance
The former Philadelphia Eagles star, 37, who retired from football in March 2024 after 13 seasons in the NFL, returned to the team’s training facility to see if he could still complete a vigorous in-season workout routine with head strength coach Fernando Noriega
a video shared by the Eagles on social media, Kelce tells viewers he hopes to complete his former routine, but admits, “I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a while.”
Kelce proved during his impressive showing, a year and a half after retiring from football, that he can still meet a handful of his personal bests — even breaking a personal record in speed
Noriega said he knows Kelce “has lost a few pounds,” referring to the former center’s 30 lb. weight loss after retirement, but predicted he wouldn’t beat his personal best record.
My fastest time I ever hit in practice was 19.2 mph,” Kelce shared, before going on to beat it with a time of 19.64 mph.
After learning he’d gotten faster, Kelce said, “Are you f—ing kidding me? Let’s go,” and attempted the run again hoping to break 20 mph. He didn’t end up hitting that goal, but the former center still seemed proud with his final speed of 19.72.
Kelce’s workout also highlighted the former NFL star’s sense of humor as he cracked jokes throughout the session, poking fun at his own inflexibility and asking the camera men, “We’ll cut that, right boys?,” after an embarrassing moment.
During the agility portion of the workout, Kelce completed the challenge but seemed to struggle, admitting, “No joke, I used to be very, very good at that,” but said he hadn’t attempted it “in over a year.”
Kelce also completed a weight training session during the workout, starting with a force plate and attempting to beat his 2023 personal best.
