He tweeted out a video of the performance, quoting a verse from the Bible: Galatians 6:7-8.’Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting,’ Butker’s tweet read.
The performance drew ire from many Christians, who believed their religion was being mocked.Butker congratulated the women receiving degrees and said most of them were probably more excited about getting married and having children. He also said some Catholic leaders were ‘pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America.’
