Patrick Mahomes overcomes nasty scare to deliver ‘insane’ Super Bowl win
Super Bowl LVII. Mahomes came limping off the field in the first half, only to return in the second half to inspire his side to a thrilling 38-35 win and claim the MVP trophy for a second time.
Mahomes came into the contest with a suspect right ankle and appeared to suffer more damage to it after a tackle from Eagles linebackerame. He played a major part in his side’s first score after the Eagles drew first blood. scooped up the fumble on the 45 yard line to race away for a defensive touchdown.
Hurts once again put his stamp on proceedings before halftime after catching the Chiefs’ defence napping for his side’s third touchdown of the game. Chants of “MVP” rang out from the stands as the Philly star became the first quarterback with multiple rushing touchdowns in a Super Bowl since 1986.
