Travis Kelce Goes Nuclear on Lane Kiffin With F-Bomb After Coach Ditches Ole Miss for $91M LSU Deal

Published

The college football community, especially Ole Miss Rebels, got blindsided when Lane Kiffin packed his bag for the LSU Tigers. He ditched an 11-1 Ole Miss squad headed to the playoff — a move that led to endless criticism across college and even from some voices in the NFL.

Kiffin signed a seven-year contract worth $91 million with the Tigers. That $13 million per year made him the second-highest-paid coach in college football, but Travis Kelce is not buying the money move.

The Kansas City TE didn’t hold back his disgust, asking how NCAA rules allowed him to throw Ole Miss’ season away for a paycheck.

Travis Kelce Shreds Lane Kiffin for Blowing Up Rebels’ Playoff Hopes
The Chiefs tight end went all-out on Kiffin’s bad timing of the LSU move. His departure left Ole Miss scrambling to fill coaching spots right before their first-ever CFP appearance.

That’s a disaster scenario for any program, and Kelce didn’t shy away from torching the NCAA rule and their former coach in his exclusive fiery rant.

“I mean, there needs to be some sort of rule by the NCAA that you can’t start looking for new job opportunities until after the season because Ole Miss is going to go into (the) College Football with someone’s dad as a f—– like, helper,” Kelce said on his recent “New Heights” podcast.

Kelce knew exactly how bad this looked for the Rebels’ championship aspirations. Recently, Kiffin tried to save his cake but the 36-year-old is on point.

“You know what? I mean, like, you don’t just have extra coaches on the practice squad. You’re just gonna have to gather up people from around the university or however you need to do it,” he continued.

“We were at the fcking Sugar Bowl with, like, guys, dads, helping with personnel on the sidelines,” Kelce added. “It’s a cluster—k, and it’s definitely putting the team and the players at a disadvantage when you don’t have your head coach, or your offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, things like that.”

Before Kiffin made his move, ESPN’s Pat McAfee begged him to stay put at Ole Miss. The former NFL expert tried warning Kiffin on College GameDay about the unforeseen disaster.

“I would like to say if Lane Kiffin is listening … you’re allowed to be happy and content, brother,” McAfee said. “You’re allowed to become a GOAT at a place. I think there’s a feeling amongst a lot of coaches, like, ‘Hey, you got to get to this job, you got to get to this job.’”

McAfee’s plea didn’t work. Kiffin headed to LSU anyway, leaving Ole Miss right before their CFP debut. This Kiffin soap opera didn’t help Rebels much but did expose college football’s broken system.

As current and former players raise their voices against the NCAA system, hopefully, leaders will take a serious look at it so teams don’t end up dealing with the same situation Ole Miss is facing now.
